I wasn’t even sure if I had to even talk about this place, I just figured that heh everyone already knows about it and how good it is. BUT then it happened, I met someone who’s never heard of the place, who’s never even…tried ayam penyet!!? So I brought her there, she loved it and all that and it’s made me realise the obvious, never assume! Ofcourse not everyone has tried this place and plus, it’s great food, ALWAYS TALK ABOUT GREAT FOOD.
When here we usually order the rice dishes. Above is the Lele Penyet RM6.90. I usually order this here, it’s like chicken but fish. Best of both worlds. Soft, tender and tasty. no complaints.
Empal Penyet RM7.90 aka flattened beef. This used to be my favorite but sometimes the beef can be a bit tough, but that problem is usually overseen by it’s awesome flavour.
The fish and beef came with cabbage and chilli, tofu and my favorite tasting tempe hmm.
The one complaint that I do have about this place is that the rice dishes don’t come with any sort of soup not even soup kosong, so after awhile it can get a bit dry. My friend said that’s cause in Indonesia they eat it with a sauce or something like that but it’s okay! We ordered this Soup Ekor RM9.90, it went well with our other dishes and they’re generous with the meat.
Great hearty meal. I want some now.
Please also try the Ayam Penyet/chicken if you’ve never tried it before. It’s they’re specialty.
